ISSUE 7:
Maintenance Phases: What are they good for and why should YOU take them?
In the last two issues of the newsletter we covered both the fat loss and muscle gain phases as they pertain to dieting. So what do we call the periods of time that aren’t dedicated to those two goals? If the title was any indication that would be, you guessed it, the maintenance phase.
Before we go in depth regarding maintenance phases we need to define our terms. A maintenance phase is just that: a period of time in which the dietary practices carried out are done so to maintain current bodyweight/bodycomposition. That’s right the goal is to keep weight the same. But wait, Coach Austin, that sounds like we are wasting time and not working towards any goals. Today, I’m going to address this and tell you why that isn’t the case and how these phases are some of the most critical we will ever do throughout our fitness journeys.
The questions we aim to answer include the following:
1. When do we take a maintenance phase?
2. How long should they last?
3. When must we take them?
4. What are the benefits of a maintenance phase?
5. What goals do I focus on during this phase?
6. Motivational sendoff and FREE PROGRAMMING giveaway details!
I greatly appreciate your viewership; catch you all in the comments. Stay tuned for the 8th issue next week!
