ISSUE 3:
Introduction to Foundational Nutritional Science
Nutritional science is a broad and complex field of scientific study. There are countless mechanisms, theoretical concepts, and practical outcome data in both animal and human studies. Many of these concepts are, largely, context dependent and the onus of communicating this nuanced science to people relies on adept practitioners.
Today we are going to discuss some extremely foundational concepts, on which most of the more specific concepts are built upon. Within the confines of this newsletter we will discuss the basics of energy balance, macronutrients and their respective roles within the context of health and fitness.
The topics will be the following:
1. What is a calorie?
2. Energy balance: CI:CO.
3. What are the Macronutrients and what are they generally used for?
4. Why does this all matter?
5. Motivational sendoff!
I greatly appreciate your viewership; catch you all in the comments. Stay tuned for the 4th issue next week!
